A couple weeks ago we gave you a glimpse at a new Kickstarter campaign for a new game by Bugbear, the creators of the popular FlatOut demolition racing series. Unfortunately, just weeks later, we're back to tell you the campaign has been canceled by the developer, falling well short of the $350,000 funding goal that they had hoped for. Any fans out there shouldn't fret just yet, because Bugbear isn't giving up on their AAA-title.

If you still want to support the project, you can pre-order the title from the group's website. Just like Kickstarter, there are different "tiers" of pre-ordering, each with their own perks. Those who pre-order can expect access to the game sometime in early spring of 2014. But ordering now will also get you access to a special, playable, "sneak preview." Bugbear spoke posted an update in a recent Kickstarter message:

"As a thank-you to our faithful fans, we have decided to release a PLAYABLE technology sneak peek, and it's available RIGHT NOW to all our pre-order supporters. The sneak peek features a playground that we use internally to test various features various like car damage and environment destruction. The best thing about it is that you will get a chance to have fun and wreak havoc with an amazing 24 cars!"

If you plan on getting the game when it releases, now may be the best time to secure your copy. In an effort to secure as many pre-orders as possible, Bugbear has temporarily lowered the prices on its "support packages." That means you'll be able to grab yourself a pre-order copy of the game for only $25.00, which is a steal if "Next Car Game" turns out to be a AAA-title smash-hit like the developer hope.

If you don't feel like pre-ordering, but still want a glimpse at what the game has to offer, be sure to check out the video above.
