Earlier today, Acer unveiled two new Windows 10 devices that will hit the market later this year. One is the Aspire R 14, a convertible notebook with a 360-degree hinge; and the other is the Aspire Z3-700, a 'portable' all-in-one with a built-in battery.

The Aspire R 14 is the more compelling of the two devices, as the convertible's design is similar to that of Lenovo's Yoga series. Like the Yoga series, the R 14 is built to be used as both a laptop and a tablet, with the 14.0-inch touchscreen display folding a full 360-degrees thanks to a "dual torque hinge".

Acer has equipped this convertible with an Intel Skylake CPU, up to 8 GB of RAM, SSD storage, and MU-MIMO Wi-Fi ac, although they haven't been specific on what exact configurations we can expect. The device isn't the slimmest either, at 18.5mm thin and 1.9 kg heavy, but will be available starting at $699 later this month.

The Aspire Z3-700 is an interesting device, packing a 17.3-inch 1080p display and a battery said to last five hours into a 15.6mm thin, 2kg light body. A kickstand built into the body allows you to use it as either a standard all-in-one desktop or as a giant tablet, depending on the use case.

Considering the all-in-one features just an Intel Pentium or Celeron CPU, coupled with up to 8 GB of RAM and an SSD or HDD, the device is more budget oriented than other all-in-one offerings. Acer hasn't settled on a launch date or price for the Z3-700 in North America, but it will be coming to Europe by the end of the year starting at €599.
