Insta360 X3

The Insta360 X3 is undoubtedly one of the best 360 cameras on the market today. From usability to image quality, it's the complete package. If you're new to 360 cameras, it's an obvious frontrunner, but if you already own an Insta360 One X2, you might not feel the urgency to upgrade.

Hands on: The style of the footage is another thing. If you've got good editing skills you can do some neat things with the camera and the right accessories—I especially liked using an extra-long selfie stick to give a floating, drone-like perspective to my nature walks. The camera is smart enough to completely erase the stick from the stitched-together footage, so it looks like it's flying above your head. Digital stabilization is very effective too—there's little evidence of camera shake, even with the selfie stick at full extension.

With a great image sensor and even better software, the Insta360 X3 looks to be one of the best 360 cameras around, but its size and weight make it bulky as an action camera.

Overall, the X3 feels like a solid step forward for one of Insta360’s most popular products. It’s probably not a must-buy for anyone who has an X2, but for those who have an Insta360 One or One X, it could be a nice upgrade. And given just how much bigger the screen is, it seems like an obvious choice over the X2 for anyone looking to get into 360 recording.
