Benchmarks: AS SSD Benchmark
This time when running the AS SSD Benchmark we found that the sequential read performance of the Samsung 830 Series 512GB was comparable to that of the high-end SandForce SF-2200 based SSDs.
The sequential write performance is again amazing with a throughput of 380.1MB/s making the Samsung 830 Series 512GB 37% faster than the OCZ Vertex 3 240GB.
The Samsung 830 Series 512GB provided lightning fast 4K-64 thread read performance with a throughput of 272.3MB/s making it 12% faster than the OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS 240GB.
The 4K-64 thread write performance on the other hand was fairly poor as the Samsung 830 Series 512GB was only able to match the Patriot Pyro 120GB. The OCZ Vertex 3 240GB on the other hand was 43% faster while the Crucial m4 256GB was also 35% faster.
The read access time performance of the Samsung 830 Series 512GB was excellent taking just 0.076ms which is virtually the same result that we received from the OCZ Vertex 3 240GB while the Crucial m4 256GB was just a fraction slower.
The write access time performance was also excellent as the Samsung 830 Series 512GB took just 0.065ms. Ironically the Samsung 470 Series 256GB drive finds itself at the top of this cart ahead of the 830 Series 512GB making it the fastest drive ever tested here.
