I have a dell latitude d520 - service tag is #JF7C0C1-595B is protected by a password authentication system.

Please type in teh administrator password or system yadda yadda yadda. I do not want to do the paperclip procedure as I don't trust myself doing that, anyone got another method I can use to get the password removed?

Yes, call Dell !

Once it's in your name, you are then able to call them anytime with any issues in the future.

I can't get a boot menu it instantly goes to the white screen with the text on it asking for a password no matter what I do. Anyone know a possible way to get the password without contacting Dell directly.

For some reason I got the response intended for "smittak1" for the omnibook n6100, but I was actually needing help with dell d620 bios code. Looking for master password. The tag # is 58LLPB1-595B. See original post.

Thanks again

Help! Latitude D630 BIOS-locked system

Hello there. I'm sorry to be a mooch, but I have come across a Dell Latitude D630 that is locked via BIOS. This means that I can NOT use the DST method (which yes, I did try, regardless) because the machine will not boot at all. I work at a computer services company and this is a clients' machine that came in after they purchased it at auction.

Full System Service Tag:
46TD1G1-595B

If someone could respond with a master password for this machine, it would be extremely appreciated.

If someone could respond with a link / attachment of the software used to GENERATE a -595B master password, I _would_ be willing to send some money their way, as this is not the first time we've come across this, here in our shop.

Thank you in advance!

Randy

Actually, I was more hoping to hear from hpgl, since they're the one who seems to have been helping people.

And when you're cursing someone out, it holds much more water if you spell your expletives correctly.

I'm getting a bit sick of informing Moderators to ban members on this thread
Obviously the post made by karlosti (Note: Member Now Removed) above is stupid immaturity
And all the posts saying try this 3rd party option or this email address seems to be not getting through to new members and their posts.

Julio has already stated that this posting is not allowed, but members continue to do so (and then the posts get removed, and so on...)

As this only happens in this thread then I wonder how useful this thread is to others.
ie Dell supply passwords for $39
HP I believe is free (just contact support)
Other manufactures probably similar

Anyone outside warranty just need to register with the manufacturer

The PaperClip method had been posted a few hundred times
All information that can actually help all, is already posted

There's nothing else to post (other than hpgl or any other good semaritan (spelling?) who wants to help, every so often, ie not much !!!)

Why have this thread again?

Hi all
I have a Dell Latitude d620 from a friend which lock by a grey screen of death

Service tag: #GS8VK1S-595B
Exp. service code is: 36536479552

The DST boot cd method that Terminator_911 mention is not working as the laptop won't let me boot anything untill the password in entered.

Anyone? Please help. Many thanks in advance.

try again:

start notebook and press F2 to try to enter into BIOS setup.
At password prompt press F12. If you get the same hash as 13141, type in password 1215393
If you get another hash, post it here.

N6100 is a Pavillion

Password not working, has to be 8 digits.
It is a Omnibook 6100 with the 24C08 EEPROM.
