I have been recieving BCcode errors for about the past two weeks now and I can't figure out what is causing the problems.

I have attached the past five minidump files to see if anyone can help me. I had just started a virus scan with AVG free when this occurred today, if that helps.

Thanks, I really appreciate your help.
Tom

Hi runsoc11,

The culprit is SATA driver problem as one of minidump crashed with bugcheck 8086. This is exactly the same as this problem . Install Intel ACHI utility.

Three system crash with bugcheck 77 and I am not sure whether they are related to the SATA driver problem. Repost your windows still crash after you install Intel ACHI utility.

Where do I find?

Doesn't it seem wierd that the computer would just start acting up in the past couple of weeks if it were a problem with my hard disk driver, as a I've had the computer for 6 months now. Maybe that is not weird, but seems a little strange to me.

Where do I find this ACHI utility? I did a quick google search, but maybe I'm not looking properly. Again, I really appreciate all your help.

Tom

AHCI Utility

Does anyone have any guidance on where I can download the AHCI Utility?

Thanks so much,
Tom

Hi

I assume that you will read the url link of my previous link carefully. Refer to message 19 of the post and you will get the answer.

I'm confused now

Well I appreciate your patience, I finally got a chance to install the Intel Storage Matrix software on my computer. I went to run my AVG antivirus software (which is when I kept getting my blue screen) and still the same problem. It almost finished the test and then I came back to my computer and saw a blue screen. The BCCode error was 77 and I'm attaching my minidump files again to see if anyone has other ideas.

Thanks so much!

Well I appreciate the help. I would not have thought of the pagefile, but I used "Eraser" to erase the pagefile, then ran CHKDSK. It definitely did the trick, low-tech and simple, but by no means what I initially would done for a BSOD.

Thanks so much,
Tom

Well I ran into problems again this morning (same issue) that I thought we had fixed. So I called Dell Tech Support, the tech support guy told me to go into the bios and clear all the system messages and then also load bios factory defaults regarding the hard drive. It booted up, but shows all drives (including a phantom floppy) so after that we went back in and disabled the floppy drive and rebooted. It now seems to be working properly and I am not getting any errors regarding hard drive, pagefile or corrupt files.

Problem resolved for good hopefully.
