With that in mind, we thought it'd be cool if you shared your desktop's looks along with your favorite resources for related enhancements. I dislike bright themes so I run Windows Aero as dark as possible along with over a hundred 1080p space wallpapers (mostly collected via InterfaceLIFT and Wallbase) rotating every 30 minutes (a native feature of Windows 7). Feel free to use our image gallery if you want to upload a screenshot of your desktop.
Just curious, can you recommend some good sites for the anime wallpapers?

Or just Google "Anime Wallpapers" I find a lot of good ones there. You can use the size options on the side to find just ones that fit your resolution. Such as 1920x1080:

Thanks for the links, I loaded up on enough wallpaper this weekend to keep me going for while
Here's what I wound up with after cleaning up my desktop, setting up some jump lists, etc.

I'm going to guess 'The best of Rubens" and 'Calendar girls':p
More like, "love muffin's greatest hits" I guess I probably shouldn't link that, should I? Wait I can't, it's not a website, it's a philosophy.......: smiley with arms holding its legs behind its ears goes here >>>> (o)__(o) <<<.....
Another late member to the party I'm afraid to say.
My desktop can be viewed (3.0MB, 3600x1080pixel .png file alert!) by clicking this link.
Its my primary desktop, used about 18hours a day. OS is Debian 6 (Squeeze) 64bit Linux, running XFCE as its desktop environment. It has also been tweeked and customised to my needs, along with other changes. Its by no means finished, I tend to add to it when I have a few mins between projects and commitments.
The lefthand wallpaper is a picture from the dodgem car area at a park located just outside of Chernobyl in a town called Pripyat. I find it very motivating personally, and its always good to remember our mistakes. The righthand screen contains my Debian wallpaper, along with a transparent terminal, a system information widget, and another widget for the GPU temps. Not in the picture is the weather applet that sits in the right hand top corner of that screen as i was changing some code on it at the time.
My Windows box is very unadmiring... It just has the UK Aero theme running changing wallpapers with UK landmarks now and then, and thats about it for any changes... Its purely for gaming.
It took my YEARS to find some good gadgets. now I can't live without these:
Power and GPU/CPU gadgets:
