Benchmarks: Gaming Performance






When it comes to gaming the Phenom II X4 processors seem to have what it takes. The Phenom II X4 940 was able to go hand in hand with the Core 2 Quad Q9650 and Core i7 940 processors in Unreal Tournament 3, while only trailing behind the Core i7 965 Extreme Edition processor by a small margin.

Then we have F.E.A.R Perseus Mandate which is far too GPU bound to be useful here, and simply serves as an example of what you can expect to find with games that are more GPU dependent.

Crysis Warhead placed the Phenom II X4 940 right up there with the Core i7 965 Extreme Edition and Core i7 940 processors. Although they were only slightly faster than the Core i7 920 and Phenom II X4 920, the Phenom X4 9950 was the slowest tested processor here so the Phenom II X4 processors have come a long way.
