Another card made by Taiwan-based ASUS,
though this is a lower-priced model. Here’s where we start
reaching the masses at an average price of
$160 for a Radeon
X700 Pro based videocard. The AX700Pro features one DVI and
one VGA output, VIVO connectors, and 256MB DDR3, plus a
generous 3-year warranty.

Like most cards on its price range, the
AX700Pro comes with no real bundled software, but just a
couple of CDs with utilities and drivers.

The PCB used by this card is smaller
than the ones used in its pricier siblings. The HSF occupies
the right half of the card, definitely not your standard
cooler placement. On the back side of the card we notice the
same Rage Theater chip as used in the X800XL for VIVO
capabilities.

Although we didn’t try overclocking this
card you will want to know default clock speeds are 425/860
MHz for the core and memory, respectively.
Pros: Good performance/price value,
VIVO.
Cons: Only one DVI output.
This time we get to see a different box
design, sporting ATI’s characteristic red, Club 3D is a
graphics card manufacturer based in The Netherlands, so
expect to see these cards being distributed mostly in the
European market.

The card comes equipped with a huge
copper heatsink, which covers a good part of the card
including most of the memory modules placed on the front.
The default clock speeds for the X800XL are 400/1000 MHz for
the core and memory, respectively. In the box we found a
DVI-VGA adapter, power adapter, and VIVO cables. The
software bundle is very straightforward yet it doesn’t
disappoint, carrying a full copy of Colin Mc Rae Rally 04.

Pros: Good performance, VIVO.
Cons: Slightly noisy.
