Just like the ASUS card based on the
same Radeon chip, this card belongs to the mid-range sector,
directly competing with NVIDIA’s GeForce 6600 GT boards.

The box art is almost the same as in the
previous card, and as you will notice by the end of this
page, the pattern will remain constant with all Club 3D
products based on ATI’s chips. The software bundle in this
card includes WWF Panda Junior in Africa, PowerDVD 5 and
Power Director 3.

On the hardware side, you get the card
along with a DVI-VGA adapter and cables for using the TV-out
feature. The HSF unit used in very similar to ASUS’ yet a
bit smaller and centered, revealing that the memory modules
are not being cooled.

The card comes equipped with 256MB GDDR3
with default clock speeds set at 435/430 MHz for the core
and memory, respectively.
Pros: Good performance/price value, TV
Out.
Cons: Memory not cooled, no VIVO, only
one DVI output.
We received for testing both card
versions of the X600 Pro, sporting the exact same GPU and
bundle, the only difference between these two boards is the
amount of memory included.

Looking inside the box we get more of
the same in terms of both hardware and software.

Both X600 Pro cards tested used TSOP
memory which makes for a slightly larger PCB. Because the
X600 chip doesn’t generate as much heat, a smaller cooler is
used, as a matter of fact both the cooler and the PCB look
identical to the ones used in the now dated Radeon 8500
cards, except the PCI Express connector, of course.

Pros: Price, TV Out.
Cons: Crippled gaming performance.
