I
first heard about the flat panel speaker technology about a
year ago and I must admit I was a bit skeptical that a flat
speaker can produce a descent sounding volume.
The flat
panel speaker system Benwin has introduced has its own niche
in the market. The speakers are ideal for small spaces and
are perfect for portable CD players and laptop computer
systems.
The BW2000
not only includes the two flat panel speakers, but also
includes a small subwoofer that gives sound more depth and
powers the flat panel speakers. While the panel speakers
provide crisp treble, they are lacking the strong bass that
gamers like. Thankfully, Benwin has provided the subwoofer
to combat this. The subwoofer is not very powerful though,
but we can say it is adequate.
Here's a run

Did you
notice the depth the speakers have? Only .86 inches. With
only .86 inches, you can place them on a bookshelf with the
books still on it. The world is slowly shifting to smaller,
more compact sound systems, but most of them use cone
technology.
The
Benwin speakers in the other hand use a different technology
to slim them down to fit into places that cone speakers
cannot. This is the main advantage to using flat panel
speakers.
