DTI 2015XLS 15" 3D LCD Display review

Final Thoughts

Reviewing a product like this is a wonderful experience, especially to see something so innovative become reality right in front of your eyes. The ease of changing between 2D and 3D is quite impressive, and the screen looks absolutely gorgeous. With that said, it’s time to talk about what I thought. Do remember, my thoughts are coming from a consumers/gamers standpoint, and if I sound critical it’s just because I want to give it to you strait as an arrow. I’m not reviewing this product on the cool factor; I’m reviewing it on a consumer’s standpoint.

As good as the 3D looked; it was still a bit blurry. I don’t mean real blurry, but it’s not as sharp and precise as I would like. It was reminiscing of watching a movie in 3D with those corny little glasses on, like JAWS3. After using it for a long period of time, I felt like my head was spinning a bit. Remember when I told you about that little red light? Well, it’s pretty tough to keep it dim while smashing your buddies online. It looks great when you are aligned perfectly, but if your like me, I move around a lot when I play games (only when I win, when I lose I cry a lot). Like I said before, it looks wonderful and the 3D does immerse you, but when playing a game, it got a little annoying. I just don’t see this technology being ready for the everyday gamer yet, but it’s getting close. If I needed a display to catch people’s attention with, this would do it. If you were at a computer show displaying some type of product, it would be great if you could do it in 3D.

My rating of this product is based on price, practicality, and my PROS & CONS list. Let me reiterate by saying I believe the product is an amazing step in the right direction, but I just don’t think it’s ready for the mainstream. After using the display, I switched back to my 19” Philips monitor and enjoyed it more. Yes, it would be nice to switch back to 3D here and there, just because of the cool factor, but I just don’t see how it’s going to revolutionize the face of gaming. On the other hand, if I were to showcase designs or displays, the 3D would really grab my customers by the throat. It’s really difficult to rate this product because there is really no other game in town to compare it to, and because the technology is so astonishing. Well, with that said, here is my honest opinion of what I felt. Thanks for reading, feel free to email me with questions/comments .
