LG is currently the largest optical
storage manufacturer in the world, and has more storage
drives in American PC’s than any other manufacturer (they
also happen to make my cell phone). To say LG is a company
with well-known products would be an understatement.
The GSA-4120B is an external drive,
which accepts all three formats: DVD-R, DVD+R, and the rare
DVD-RAM. This is LG’s third Super-Multi family offering,
improving on the great success of its predecessors. The
drive is beige in color, highlighted with a thin silver
accent directly below the tray. Writing on front of the
drive is silver in color, which matches the lower accent
plate. The unit seems to be well constructed, and looks
great in the test PC. No drive among the five opens and
closes as smooth as LG’s.
