FIC VC19 Advanced Intel i845e motherboard review

Bios Features

The board comes equipped with the Phoenix AwardBIOS, which is very easy to use. Most FIC boards also come equipped with NOVUS (FIC Unique Innovation For Users), which offers some enhanced features like Logo Genie, Bios Guardian, Easy Key, Overclock Partner, and Clock-o-meter. Here is a quick explanation:

  • Logo Genie – Allows you to create a custom startup logo

  • Bios Guardian – Protects your bios from dangerous viruses

  • Easy Key – Allows you to make hotkeys to access certain parts of your bios without going through the menu

  • Overclock Partner – Allows your system to reboot by depressing the insert key if an overclock failure occurs

  • Clock-o-meter – A graphic user interface that allows you to change the FSB in a Windows environment.

Take a look at the picture below for a better understanding of the clock-o-meter function:

Pretty neat, eh? I thought so myself, well, until I realized that voltage was cold not be adjusted in 1MHz increments! Hey, everything can’t be perfect now can it?
