The Ultimate Edge
provides a fine number of software channels which should
prove sufficient. As a comparison, current Creative
soundcards offer 64 hardware channels which should improve
performance as a result. Most other current competing
soundcards however only provide software channels as well,
so I wouldn’t consider this will particularly put the
Ultimate Edge at any real disadvantage.
