A disk read error occured

  1. While trying to reformat my hard drive with the system startup disk it stopped before it was complete. Now when you try to turn the system on it says 'a disk read error occured, press ctrl+alt+del to reststart'. When you do this is comes up to the boot menu which gives you 3 choices: hard drive, cd rom, or lan. None of these will let you start the system. its like there is no OS. What can I do to load the OS using my startup disk?. Thanks

Didn't you format? (even half done format, means the OS is gone)

You need the Windows startup disc to remove the partition and re-install Windows (obviously you didn't need to save any data)

    Just use a Windows CD
    (is this a real post?)

Will this work if it has a disk read error?
