Acer Aspire M3600 which wont boot

Hi Guys,
My parents acer aspire m3600 has stopped booting up normally. Sometimes I would have to keep hold of the power button to turn it on, as I hold the button it follows a cycle of flicking the aspire led light with the networking light. As it starts to turn on, the aspire led light starts to flicker faster and faster then the computer will 'miraculously' turn on or it will boot but there will be no signal to the monitor but the desktop will act normally

Please help me guys, Im bgging you because my warranty is finished loooool

The power supply probably needs to be replaced

Are you sure because each time I press the switch to turn on my computer even though the blue led "aspire" light flickers on and off, the fan moves when it flickers

Yes... or bad motherboard. Power supplies are easier and cheaper to replace than motherboards are

Is there a way to check if it is a bad motherboard

Yes, by replacing the power supply first... You can check for bad capacitors on the motherboard around the CPU too. Here is what bad caps look like:
