Activate Win 8.1

I bought a new Lenovo G510 December 2014 and I have just been told that my Win 8.1 license expires 17 May and I must activate it. According to my PC Settings the system is activated and I've found the current product key and tried re entering it but it's not being accepted. Can someone please explain what I have to do to put things right. Thanks

It's pretty new so I'd raise this with Lenovo unless someone has an easy solution.

It's good to know that Lenovo support was helpful. I have an old Medion desktop (Medion is now part of Lenovo) and found their support to be above average. Did you use an anti-malware program to solve the problem?

No I just followed the link and searched/removed the KMSpico files as suggested. My anti-malware didn't spot anything.

KMSpico is software that some people use to get round activating Windows and other Microsoft software such as Office. I'm sure that Microsoft would say it was malware.
