The Return of Investors
Okay, I haven't been here for almost a year, but since you all took time to answer my questions about Video Card, I will spend my time on feedback.
To SNGX1275: A great Quote from Teddy Roosevelt! Perhaps the most memorable president of the nation!; Yes, I realized not only my video card, ATI RAGE, was old, my entire system was old and getting older. I am now undertaking a total upgrade/replacement of my Gateway crap; Your description of ISA, PCI, and AGP was good. Well described.
To ISS: I ended up purchasing Sapphire, ATI Radeon 7500. I have yet to put this card in use; I downloaded Belarc advisor and installed it to find out what motherboard I have. I am not sure what it told me or whether it told me, but I know from the Gateway specification sheet that I received when I purchased my Gateway computer 4 years ago, my motherboard is Tabor III. But when I ran Belarc, this is what it told me about my main circuit board: Board:
Intel Corporation
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Intel Corp. 4W4SB0X0.15A.0013.P08 04/22/1999
To young&wild: I agree with you on that too much and too little philosophy; what does you "My Rigs" tell?
To Arris: It 's been confirmed that I indeed have an AGP slot. It was assuring that I do not have an onboard built-in graphics, but an actual slot. It doesn't matter anyway now. I am getting a new motherboard: Abit NF7-S Rev.2; I contacted Gateway since my computer is Gateway. They said my current motherboard would support 1X or 2x AGP. (I currently have Tabor III Board with Pent. III 450MHz.) My newly purchased Sapphire ATI Radeon 7500 64MB didn't work on Tabor III. So this time, I contacted Sapphire. They said check and see whether Tabor III supports 2X or 4X AGP. So, I guess it means they don't work together. Again, doesn't really matter. Getting a new board: Abit NF7-S Rev.2. Yeah, so it didn't even support 2X AGP; I will be getting a new case as well with the powersupply of 450Watts, probably. I currently have only 200 or 250Watts.
To the rest: I will read them later. It won't take another year.
Last year, I was a senior in college and had to prepare for my last Hurrah!
