AI video with any actual effort and tweaking is effectively indistinguishable from reality at this point. In the information war against the average global citizen has just gone nuclear for all intents and purposes.

I hate to say it, but eventually this will be the new normal. It's now theorized that half of all the internet traffic are bots. While they're not as sophisticated, they're getting there. And slowly but surely there'll reach a point where it'll be impossible to tell "fake" from "real". So we can fight it all we want, but it'll be a losing battle.

It's also why IMHO we need to rethink what employment is. We'll eventually reach a point where there will simply be too few jobs, quality or otherwise. So we need to rethink the concept of a "social safety net". It has to become a right and not a pittance grudgingly handed out to the poor and marginalized. As much as conservatives and capitalists rail against it, our only solution is a UBI with a sensible tax system to fund it.

The alternative is revolution which could end up with the extinction of the human race. Maybe not as bad a result as it could be...

Given many of these bots are also consumers for increased likes and shares soon the majority of the internet will be made by computers for computers. Us humans will have to start our own internet again (maybe just start with the cat pictures).
