Alternative Secondary Anti-malware Software?

For several years I have had Malwarebytes Anti-malware as a secondary scanner to back up my primary Anti-malware. With the developments concerning this previously well regarded software, I was wondering what might be an alternative scanner which:
- would not conflict with my primary Anti-malware
- could be run quickly to check files downloaded
- could be run occasionally just to wring out the system.

Almost any - - just make sure only ONE is autostarting.

I use Avast! Free as my primary as it has email scanning when loading the messages and web link scanning when I click on any link. I also have Win Defender and MalwareBytes loaded for manual invocation.
