Amazon is now selling physical retail goods in Mexico. The expansion adds to the company's existing presence in the country and includes the launch of three Kindle e-readers for Mexican customers.

Amazon.com.mx is a Spanish-language storefront with millions of items available for customers in Mexico. The company said its Mexican expansion is launching with more categories than any other international Amazon website has featured at launch.

Those categories, in no particular order, include consumer electronics, video games, sports & outdoors, kitchen & home, tools & home improvement, health & personal care, baby, watches, music, movies and TV series, the Kindle Store and books. Customers will get free shipping on orders above MXN 599, Amazon said.

Alexandre Gagnon, Director of International Expansion at Amazon, said customers in Mexico can now find more of what they want – the largest selection in the country, low prices, fast and reliable delivery, all with a trusted and convenient experience.

The three Kindle devices being introduced as part of the expansion include the MXN 1,499 Kindle, the Kindle Paperwhite and the Kindle Voyage.

Amazon first broke into the Mexican market in 2013 with the launch of the Kindle Store. It’ll compete with other e-commerce giants for sales including MercadoLibre, Inditex and Walmart, TechCrunch notes.

The expansion is the latest example of US-based companies taking interest in the Mexican market. Earlier this year, AT&T completed its acquisition of Mexico’s Iusacell and announced the acquisition of Nextel Mexico soon after.

Yep, we're pretty excited about it since early in the morning. The free shipment policy is great (approximately half of what is required for purchasing from Amazon.com).

Some friends and I spent some time looking for good deals, and so far we've found great prices in low to mid-range graphics cards (up to 33% cheaper than the stablished local electronic stores with good prices), DDR4 memory modules (up to 25% cheaper), cheap movies and games... We're already planning to buy 2 GTX 960s and 1 GTX 750 Ti there -those are the best price-performance in the catalogue; for example, the R9 285 costs the double of the GTX 960.

From an online cartel to a n other cartel, its at least one way to recycle the Narco Dollars.
