AMD ramps up Zen 3 hype, calls Ryzen 4000 CPUs "tremendously powerful"

Amd needs to do laptop-first-then-desktop just like intel because number of laptop sold are almost double of desktop.

Historically, when AMD's marketing starts reaching into hyperbole, we know that engineering has run into deep trouble. I sure hope it isn't going to be the case this time.
That's very true, but historically, the hyperbole begins AT LEAST six months before reveal if they were hiding something, not three weeks. I wouldn't be worried because if there were problems, we would have heard something, either that there were problems or that AMD's horrible marketing department would have started crowing back in March.

All the leaks that have come out point to it being enormously powerful but it has been confirmed that it will be called the 5000 series to unify the desktop and mobile CPU numbers (source: RedGamingTech). I still don't understand why they split them to begin with, it was just stupid.

On the other hand, if they have made a good product, they have just as much reason to generate hype.
So we just have to wait and see.

Now to remember if amd gets a fronside with their amd cpu gpu togeter its fast enough. intel are getting there with pcie 4.0. benchmarks and so on shows both are in tha game. if you are old enpugh the amd intel has done this in ages. for thos who have not expiried the old amd intel War must read about older amd intel chipset. intel was good on that. amd try to take 1 st place bla bla bla. when itnel goes for pci 4.0-6.0 they will LEAVE amd in the DUst like a child witouth its sweets and rangle. if amd try overun 1 st intel passsing it higher at speed heat and stable run of 3dmark unigine. amd would be a bit over under and then said its the winner. then intel goes/walk and dishwash it out and amd get I(c)(e)s lessons lerned all ower again. so caring about this little ones are so I t dont care yet anymore "eve"r. https://www.theverge.com/.../intel-11th-gen-tiger-lake... "ADAM" ✈?‍♀️? flying taking oda and have a party. waiting time forever.... --//-- now intel are at 11th gen cpu and pci 4.0. you can now run pcie 1.0-4.0 full speed. https://wccftech.com/intel-rocket-lake-desktop-cpu-11th.../ ?✈?? party mode flying dont care (coft coft) im seeing stars in eyes. https://www.theverge.com/2020/9/2/2...-lake-cpu-processor-announcement-laptops-fall

yes... and you get a whole system upgrade of performance for the money vs some IPC for the same cash.

But that's not the same amount of cash.

Cost of Cpu/mobo/ram >> cpu.

If a persons budget is $400, why are you asking them to spend $600. It's their money not yours.

I've been using costly Intel CPUs for ages. Now I'm considering AMD CPUs. But I'm unsure. How is the life span of AMD CPUs comparing to Intel CPUs?

Good one. Well, let's see... I have an AMD 386 40 MHz, an AMD AM5x86 P75 @ 133 MHz, a K6-2+ 550 MHz, an Athlon Thunderbird 1400 MHz, an Athlon XP Barton 2500+, an Athlon 64 3800+, an Athlon 64 X2 6000+. These are 15 - 30 year old CPUs and they're still working PERFECTLY. I never had a CPU die on me (be it Intel or AMD).

My retired FX 8350 (2011 purchase) is still servicing my brothers PC (SSD+1060) with mild OC to 4.3 GHz, he is very satisfied with the PC at the moment.

It's "right on the trajectory we need to be on"? That's good, because indeed AMD soes need to keep improving its products now, given that Intel is back in the game.
