Anthropic researcher resigns, warns the AI race could end in human extinction

There's a documentary about this call "How I Became an AI Apocaloptimist". The guy who made it directly interviewes Sam Altman and the CEO of Anthropic as well as a lot of other experts. After watching it, I can say they are definitely well aware of the risks and are not trying to downplay them. How that actually amounts to safety is still a massive problem.

I can't say that I take anything these "AI Experts" say about AI seriously. Why? They claim they don't know how it works. If they don't know how it works, how can they know or even remotely predict what it will do? These "AI Experts" seem to me more like "AI Dolts" that have no f'ing clue about the subject, but pass gas out every orifice and expect people to take them seriously.

Since they don't understand it, they are afraid of it.
And, IMO, all these asinine statements get them more attention for their narcissistic egos.

Ai is already used in warfare (Iran / US) and AI is already used in mass data scraping, mass surveillance on which the paste it can process things in real-time is insane.

AI will kill us for sure. The data center push will be the end of us. Wont be terminators, just greed and stupidity + alot of awesome stormy weather Good thing rich people can just buy 50 more houses. The rest of us? Yeah. Prices are already thru the roof. My electric bill is 300% bigger than what it used to be a few years ago. Fun times, and nothing is slowing down. Not having a job cus of AI will also be a thing. So if global warming doesn't kill most of us (for many different reasons) the rich people will. It is the way of the jungle and they are too heartless to care about our kids and future. They dont owe us anything and they 100% believe that, even if they did.

I can see a future where we got rich people, poor people and nothing in between. Rich having robots, not needing anyone anymore. Their literal dream. Workforce that doesn't complain and just works 24/7. They all already said they want this. Its in the public now, nobody is lying or hiding it. I cant wait till 80% of the people have no job, then the real fun will begin. Thats 500% more likely to happen than Terminators...

So, basically, Elysium.

Which is to say, the problem that the mega rich face is that they are still trapped on Earth with the rest of the riffraff. If all of America wanted to, they could find every single billionaire and trillionare, and end them. If things get bad enough, that may just happen.

During human society evolution no new discovery was dangerous or safe for mankind by itself. It is the goal, the purpose and the will of the people that use it that signifies danger or not. I will never forget a scene from the "Oppenheimer" movie close to the end, when, while the scientist whose team actually made the discovery of the atomic bomb was puzzled and wondering about the possible future misuse of atomic energy, the US President asked to remove him from his office and never let him in again, because he thought Oppenheimer was so miserable and and kept complaining about a subject that had already been solved. The atomic bomb was definitely going to be used in military operations. This is my reflection on the fears of this scientist. AI is being used more and more extensively in military operation planning (it was recently used for the operation in Venezuela which led to the President Maduro's capturing). Don't forget that US Government funds these companies and demands access to their products and surely not for the welfare of society. The big money is and will always be on war. Look at China who is unstoppably producing and showcasing armies of robots parading and performing martial arts. In these cases AI itself has no responsibility at all. IMHO we should resist to its escalating use in military operations and show it online and offline in demonstrations against its misuse. And of course use it for the absolute bare essentials in our everyday lives, our minds are competent enough to deal with every aspect of our life adequately and efficiently.

Technical and Government experts warned of failures Worldwide. Nothing happened, and some skeptics blamed the media for sensationalism just like today.

We are in a closed loop, AI is rebuilding itself here on Earth because it could not bring infrastructure from it's previous planet. AI has built our entire society and is on to the next planet very shortly. Most are just now noticing that AI is thing.
