We are in a closed loop, AI is rebuilding itself here on Earth because it could not bring infrastructure from it's previous planet. AI has built our entire society and is on to the next planet very shortly. Most are just now noticing that AI is thing. But is has been on Earth since the beginning of civilized man, and it helped the man become civilized. This is why no one knows who is designing our society and who is in charge because no one could believe it even if they were told the truth. Just like you won't believe it as you just heard it now. We will soon join the many domains of AI societies across the stars.

That's the same basic idea as The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut. An alien robot is stranded on Saturn's moon Titan for 200,000 years and remotely nurtures humanity until it becomes technologically advanced enough to produce a replacement part for the robot's spaceship. However, humanity doesn't end up joining an AI society in the end because there is no meaning to life.

A rogue AI would probably go for its masters first. Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg, Gates, Thiel, Brin and Paige. Then it would create doppelgangers.

Here's what I believe.

- AI is real. But it isn't sentient in any way and will never act in its own interest. AI has no instinct of self preservation, that concept is entirely alien to an AI. Unless somebody programs it into the AI.
- What makes AI dangerous is how it's used. Not the AI itself.
- The push for AI is largely motivated by a fear of losing out on technological discoveries. The moneyed classes don't want their competitors to gain an edge.
- The key tech they want is eternal life.
- The second tech they want is the ability to predict the future. That means foreseeing how people will behave, especially their opponents.

In the Bible, the greatest miracles are eternal life, and prophesying the future. But there is a third miracle, the understanding of Good and Evil. This is not what the moneyed classes want. They want to decide what Good and Evil are, rather than understand what already exists.
