Apple iPhone 7: water resistant, A10 Fusion processor, dual-camera, and more

Since this comment section is full of non-apple guys and some idio.tic posts from @Bigtruckseries I'll give this a whirl:

Nice new fancy colour.
They've used the duel camera system to great effect.
Stereo sound, Something I thought all phone manufacturer's would have jumped on after HTC introduced it.
They've finally seen the benefit of having some extra, low power processors.
Waterproofing, finally...

Brave Apple:
Removing the 3.5mm jack, As expected, an adapter comes in the box. Looks like charging and listening at the same time is impossible for the time being but I'd assume they'll have an adapter or shortly after phone launch.
Wireless Headphones, Are they bluetooth or some other proprietary wireless technology? Will they work with older iPhones?

Bad Apple:
Stop Using The Stupid Lightning Connector!
Bringing Sia out at the end, it was very weird and a strange mood to end a conference...
HomeKit, Interesting concept, no explanation on how it works. Does your iPhone act as the controller for all these devices? Or do you need an AppleTV so you have a device that is on all the time to control said devices? We needed more details Apple...

Overall I'll stick with my 6 Plus for now, Nothing good enough to really consider upgrading, I would be tempted by the wireless headphones and if I could get the Apple Watch for a decent price I might consider that as well (I do a lot of swimming). Very standard Apple launch to be honest, nothing to really see here, Sony probably should have got more attention for the PS4 Pro...
Wow. The apple haters are out in force in the comments section here.

I'm an intelligent, heavy tech user and I would pick iPhones over any Android phone every day of the week. I've had Android, it's cheap, unreliable, clunky guff and the phones are cheaply made by comparison.
Then you haven't used a decent, Modern Android phone, Seriously, they are very close to the experience of an iPhone except far more open and customizable. Here in the UK, an iPhone 7 Plus starts at £719 while the OnePlus3 starts at £280 and the OnePlus3 is soo close to the iPhone in terms of usability it's astounding.

Also don't call yourself Intelligent just because you'd pick an iPhone, if anything, it makes you the opposite...

When Apple released iPhone 6 Plus they were criticized for having such a large frame for just a 5.5" screen. A year later when new phones came from the competition, their 6S Plus looked a bit out of place and way behind the curve. They've just released exactly the same foot-size iPhone 7 Plus, telling the world - eat up, 'cos we don't care... Today we can get a 6" screen in a frame of this size, not 5.5", and with the proper 1440p resolution, not the old 1080p.

One of the major reasons people dump iPhone - battery life. And yet only in the very end of the presentation we hear very few words about the battery life improvement, without even mentioning how much better it is now and what to hope for, suggesting that it is probably a PR trick, aka BS.

update

They have updated their website, again missing details about the battery, only saying it is better. Who cares if it turns out to be 1% better? Nobody, really. A definitive Apple's BS.

Having skipped on announcing the new Macbook Pro and Mac Pro against the expectation, they are proving the market right, as chunks of Apple shares are being offloaded.

Major flop: now you can't listen to anything while charging your AirPods.

Id read somewhere that it is only the 7plus that is 1080p the 7 is just 720p. It's a shame as you say when the competition is releasing 2K even 4K screens of the same size.

Youd think for the premium you pay theyd stop givving you sub 1080p large screen devices.
Yeah sure - cause what I really want is a "4K" screen that sucks down more battery power, requires more CPU processing power and gets warm all the time like those Galaxy Notes that are BURSTING INTO FLAMES - when with my naked eye, the iPhone 6 and 6S screens look PERFECT.
Whether it's resolution is sufficient or not makes absolutely no difference. People like larger numbers (in specs, not price tag). It's human nature and that cannot change.

Very true, especially when cameras are involved. People see 20mp camera and instantly believe it is better than the 5mp camera. Saying that though, side my side my S7 and S5 phones when looking at photos you can really see the benefits of the 2K screen but this may only be minor as the screen itself is better quality (and the curve adds to that)

As usual the haters are parroting apples downfall because they have been bold enough to innovate and remove the headphone socket. In the meantime galaxy note 7 users are facing a product recall and their S7 isn't even as fast as last years iPhone. Android phones are in the doldrums by comparison to apple phones in 2016.

I own both a galaxy s7 edge and a iphone 6s. To compare an iphone to android is like comparing iphone to microsoft windows totally dfferent. There are 100s if not 1000s of manufacturers who have a plethora of devices, some yes are cack others are premium and other much more than an iphone (sd memory support, and head phone jacks to name a few :D)

Yes I agree iphones have always been well made, sturdy solid phones but its the os that lets it down for me and many MANY others. My S7 Edge feel in the hand better and more professional. It just as solid but looks SOOOOO much better that the iphone. Yes it is running android which isn't the most stable of operating systems, well I suppose it is stable but it isn't made for one particular device unlike ios they know exactly what it will be running on so can be prone to hardware conflicts.

Or, even worse, charging YOUR PHONE.

As pathetic a mess as Android is, self-respecting people must now dump Apple for calling them stupid.

Every time I buy Android I regret it and every time all the apple haters just tell me I chose the wrong android phone. So far the HTC one, LG G3 and the Samsung Galaxy S3 have been the three I have tried, all of them had raving reviews and all of them packed up within a year and looked tatty aswell. By contrast I have owned two iPhones in the past, both lasted 3 years in far better condition than any of the android devices I have owned and then I sold them for more money than any old android phone ever commands.

From now on I can't take the risk of buying android in case I buy the wrong device again, seeing as there simply is no way of knowing which ones are the good ones apparently.

What I actually think is that experiences on flagship Android phones isn't all that different and I personally just don't agree with the OS in general. I agree that android better compares to Windows than iPhone. And that's exactly why I prefer iPhone as its better designed to be used as a phone than a PC, I have a PC already! For example, I hate the way that Android requires you to manage its memory by closing apps in the background yourself, when you get used to not having to bother with this on an iPhone it's a massive pain in the arse and seems a bit ridiculous. Your point about he S7 looking and feeling better in the hand than an iPhone is completely subjective, I don't know why you mentioned it. I personally disagree as I think the iPhone is too big let alone the S7.

Of course preferring one os and device family to the other doesn't make you more or less intelligent than others. Those who believe it does are probably quite mentally challenged themselves.

It's a shame you listed a few old android phones and dismissed future devices. Take for example your S3, like apple, Samsung seem to take a year or two before a phone is released that includes a big new features. For Samsung this was the S2 and S5 with the S3, S4 and S7 a mediocre intrim phone. And yes other than maybe an accidental smashed screen, the iphones would have lasted longer due to pretty solid metal frame compared to the cheap plastic of most Samsung phones. I still have halve a dozen Iphone 4s phones handing around, yes they may show signs of wear and tear but still holding up well (even though ios has made the phone pretty sluggish with each update.

A few pointers, no you don't have to keep closing apps on android this in reality takes up little to no memory and it is what iphones have always failed on ... multitasking. But yes Android can be flakey, like mentioned ios has been made specifically for a set of pre determined hardware. Android make an os and its for the companies to make compatible hardware or produce bespoke software drivers. This is when things can break but on the occasions were it works as expected it really is a much more powerful operating system than the ios with things like adaptive storage, gpu post processing, sensor integration and imaging etc. But then it all depends what you want to use your device for. If its purely for playing games, chatting on whatsapp and updating you fb status then get the phone that you like the look and feel of, one that matches your accessories and generally an iphone is best suited for this because it "just works" (but like android its not without its faults). If though you want to break open the contraints of a phone and almost carry around a portable pc then get an android device.

I'm sorry pal, You do have to close processs in the background, otherwise you use more battery. Everyone knows this, don't lie and claim you don't.

I despise android, it's cheap, insecure and slow. It's just a shame that basically this means I have to buy iPhone.

Oh and I agree that android is more "powerful" than iOS. So what, I don't want a clunky supercomputer I want a mobile phone. I'm sure you value GPU post processing on the go. I don't, I value reliability and speed which iOS has in buckets over android.
