Asus p5n-e sli boot problems(beeping)

I just upgraded my computer, right now it's a
Q6600 2.4ghz
p5n-e sli board
EVGA 8800gts
4g of corsair xms2 ram ( cm2x1024-5400c4pro, 4-4-4-12)
550w power supply

When i boot my computer, i am only putting 2g of ram in, and it does a long continuous beep, i've never left it on long enough to wait for the beep to stop. I don't have any ram to test with to check compatability, but when i start it up with no ram in, it beeps 3 times all the same length

Copied/Pasted from here:

AwardBIOS Beep Codes
1 short: System boots successfully
2 short: CMOS setting error
1 long 1 short: DRAM or M/B error
1 long 2 short: Monitor or display card error
1 long 3 short: Keyboard error
1 long 9 short: BIOS ROM error
Continuous long beeps: DRAM error
Continuous short beeps: Power error

I could be wrong, but I don't see how your PC would be able to boot without RAM (even prior to Windows that is) so it's obvious (if I'm correct anyhow) that you'd get an error of sorts when you took it out.

Try booting with each RAM module individually and try different slots. Be sure that the RAM is fully seated...
