What just happened? 5G continues to roll out nationwide, and wireless carrier AT&T has hit yet another milestone in this arena. The company has managed to bring its 5G service to 13 additional cities, including the likes of Atlantic City, Boston, Bakersfield, and Modesto.

This service expansion brings the total number of 5G-ready cities (under AT&T's umbrella, that is) to 32. That's obviously pretty far from national coverage, but it does look like things are speeding up a bit.

Last time AT&T expanded the availability of its low-band 5G network, it only added support for six new cities -- 13 is more than twice that number, and not all of the cities in the latest expansion are massive urban hubs (though several are). Five of the newly-supported cities are in California, but the rest are scattered throughout Georgia, Kansas, New Jersey, Maryland, Missouri, and Massachusetts.

For a full, comprehensive list of AT&T's 5G-ready cities, check out the company's 5G web page right here. AT&T promises to "keep [its] 5G momentum going" throughout 2020, but we'll have to wait and see precisely what that will entail. As of now, even cities that do have access to AT&T's 5G network only have limited coverage, and the ISP only supports one 5G device: the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G.

Regardless, it is nice to see progress being made in the world of 5G, even if carriers are taking things slow. If you live in a supported area and have a compatible Note 10+, AT&T's Unlimited Elite ($85/mo) and Unlimited Extra ($75/mo) plans will grant you access to 5G.

I'll keep my 4g LTE I'm being over charged for in the first place. No matter what they say your getting the same kind of service. U truly think a millimeter in speed is really a reason to pay $20,$30 or even $40 more a month never mind what it will add up to a year? Not my pocket so, no thank u. Why would we be willing to accept to pay more for service that should be included in the already over charge of cell phone service in the first place? If we all accept this they will just keep going higher in prices just like with the phones but call it 6G instead. We as a whole that's making these companies billions need to step back from this and demand this service with everything else be included free with what we already pay for service to start with or, just DONT UPGRADE AND MAKE IT A WASTE OF TIME and MONEY in advertisement alone be wasted on their end. We as a society deserve better with the money we already pay. Dont allow ourselves to be enslaved to this over charging for services they should supply in the first place for free. We control it all not them just keep that in mind. And them calling phones samsung or Apple "5G" which means nothing but to brainwash consumers with a selling point to make us think we have something truly special that we be more then happy to pay more. DONT FALL FOR IT! Like next samsung and apple 12 will have 15 cameras added to the back because not the one they started with in generation 1 that's still pretty much on the phone when we was paying 1/4 of the price they asked then will be worth to us to pay $2000 to them now. Dont fall for this its ridiculous and we need to come together to shut them down or even better be so committed if they dont bring the prices into the range WE find acceptable they close their doors and go OUT OF BUSINESS PERMANENTLY. Keep the 5G as things need to change drastically with the greed.
