ATI 6850 on XFX 780i mobo?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but can I run an ATI Raedon card on this Nvidia chipset mobo ( XFX780i SLi c/-PCI Exp enabled). In other word do I have to use an Nvidia based GPU or can I used an ATI card. I would only be using one card. I have a GTX280 1gb and the AA is useless.

You should have no problem running an ATI Radeon card with the Nvidia motherboard chipset. For that matter, you would have no problem with an Nvidia card and an AMD chipset.

I wouldn't recommend replacing your GTX 280 with a Radeon 6850 since that seems more like a side-grade then anything else. If you really are looking for improved performance I'd say a GTX 560 or Radeon 6870 would serve you better.
