Yeah y&w, my Gigabyte card came with a huge custom Thermaltake heatsink; which is overkill considering it's just was an 8500LE. The fan was too small and noisy so I ripped it out and slapped a 70mm on it, and it's perfectly quiet :D

My video card still runs a little hot thought, like 40C for the core and 38C for the memory :(

Sure beats the wimpy little ATi HSF though...

hey, i'm very curious as to your mod on that card. i ahve the same one and am looking to reduce noise in my system. right now, the fan on my 8500le is causing the most noise. can you tell me how easy/difficult it was to remove and fit a bigger fan on there?

also, how can you check the temps on the core and the memory?
thanks for any feedback, if i can quiet this awful whine my system will be near silent! arigatoo

If you like nice Image Quality then the 9500 Pro craps on the GF4 Ti cards when you turn on antialiasing and anisotropic filtering. Just makes things look damned sweet. Apart from that their isn't much between them in most benchmarks.

Note: The video cards without the heatsink mounting holes or with components that interfere with the heatsink cannot accommodate this product

You might have a little problem since I don't know many R8500 cards that had mounting holes around the core.:dead:

hmmm... that would be unfortunate. a review i read about it mentioned compatible with 8500,, anyone out there try one of these with an 8500le?
