Is the Radeon RX 9070 XT Really Faster Than the RTX 5090?

What I'm missing as outcome of this analysis is: if you want to upgrade your gpu on your old pc, rather don't buy strong (and insanely expensive) nvidia gpu.
if you set up a new gaming pc, make sure, you use 9800x3d, then you may pair it with any gpu.

That’s the rub… if you’re buying a $5000 GPU, you are almost certainly NOT pairing it with a $100-200 CPU… and if you are, you’re a fool…

it's not only the 5090!
you might think that a $1000 nvidia is better for your old pc and it turns out that a $700 amd would perform same or better.
the older the pc hardware and the cpu the worse it the choice for an overpriced nvidia.

with the 5090 the case it's rather obvious.

granted, the title asks if the rx 9070 is faster than rtx 5090.
sure, it's an interesting question and so the review and answers.
for practical application of the nvidia driver bottleneck, other questions and answers are more relevant.

A few years ago I had a similar situation with my then-new RTX 3070 paired with my old Ryzen 2600 - in certain CPU-limited games it barely performed any better or was even a bit slower than my previous RX 570. It prompted me to immediately upgrade to a 5800X
