Audio driver problem

  1. Dear sir,

    i am newly bought a dell laptop vastro A860 R520978. after i am installing win xp sp2. i am unable to install audio driver. i am getting the error report of
    could not find conexant audio device, application cant run properly.
    Driver installation failed, could not find the media device for this driver.

    audio icon cant be displayed.

    please give any idea to solve this problem.

    try these steps:

    1. Update your windows
    > then install the sound driver

    2. if step 1 didnt worked:
    > Boot your machine into safe mode and install the sound driver.

    Conexant devices are pretty generic, you should be able to find various compatible drivers for the device. I recently had trouble finding a driver for such a device on a friend's computer but I ultimately found it on the manufacturer's site. Perhaps Dell has some similar resources...
