Audio Failure

Hello all. I have a Dell Latitude laptop whose volume has stopped working. The speakers work, but are so muted that even at top volume I can barely hear with headphones on. All the drivers are functioning correctly according to device manager, are signed, and don't have any updates to download. I was playing a video game through IWin called Cradle of Rome when the sound stopped working properly. I have anti-virus software and after running a scan didn't find anything other than tracking cookies. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi,
Do you have a manual volume control wheel on the front (or side) of the laptop? I have to ask because this is a common one. If so you need to move it up and this will increase your master volume. If you are adjusting the volume on the screen by clicking the volume slider with the manual volume wheel set to low, then this will have little effect on your overall volume.
