Inactive AVG running wild finding Win32/Heur

Hello,

I've installed AVG 2011 a long time ago and updated the database weekly on my system (it's Win XP). Normally no viruses were found. Bt since about three weeks AVG find's a Win32/Heur in a daily turn. I know that heur means heuristic and AVG is not really sure about the hit. But send the file to AVG resulted in a definitve hit. Waht makes me unsure is that the infected files are untouched about a year and are original files of programs which I bought from trusted enterpises (e.g. tivola).
Can please anybody tell me if there's a real problem or if I just should change my anti virus program? Have anybody of you made the same experiences in the last days?

THX

AVG has been plagued recently with false positives and I suspect, that's the case here.
If in doubt....

1. Open Windows Explorer. Go Tools>Folder Options>View tab, put a checkmark next to Show hidden files, and folders.
Upload file in question to http://www.virustotal.com/ for security check:

IMPORTANT! If the file is listed as already analyzed, click on Reanalyse file now button.

2. Run some online scanner, like ESET Online Scanner

3. I stopped recommending AVG long time ago. If you didn't pay for it, I suggest, you switch to one of these:
- Avast! free antivirus: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
- Avira free antivirus: http://www.free-av.com/en/download/1/avira_antivir_personal__free_antivirus.html
Uninstall AVG, using this tool: http://www.avg.com/us-en/download-tools
