Blackberry on Tuesday announced a new version of its BBM instant messaging software for iOS, Android and BlackBerry. The update brings along the option to download and send stickers, support for sending larger files, and the ability to share images in multi-person chats.

The Canadian smartphone maker is hoping to make your BBM chats more interesting with the introduction of stickers, which you can download from the new BBM Shop. Each sticker pack contains 20 to 25 stickers and features content developed by select artists.

The company has also partnered with brands like CosCat, Gilbert’s Tales, Bubble Bot, and more, for themed sticker packs. While some packs are free, others cost US $1.99, or an approximate equivalent amount in the local currency. One brand taking advantage of stickers is WWE, which is planning to give away a free sticker pack to celebrate WrestleMania 30.

In addition to stickers, now you can also send photos, videos and files up to 16MB, which is a 10MB increase over the previous limit. It also finally allows you to share photos in multi-person chats.

The new features are only available on BBM 10.3.1 for BlackBerry 10, BBM 8.2 for BlackBerry OS, and BBM 2.1 for Android and iOS. You can head to our download section to check if you have the latest version.

The announcement also notes that BlackBerry 10 users should make sure that they are running the latest official version of BlackBerry 10 OS, 10.2.1. Otherwise they could experience some issues when sending BBM messages.

And my S4 can send all the above PLUS audio, video, memo's, locations & more!

Of course it can. Just like BlackBerry 10 phones between BB10 to BB10 have video, voice, location share, screen share etc. These are being brought to Apple and Samsung with updates. Full version of BBM should be in a few months.
