Best games of all time

I'm suprised no one mentioned Unreal tournament, for all the FPS fans out there.
My favs are the Quake series, Max Payne and HH2 and now CS. I'm really liking the Wolfenstein/ET games, sort of roll playing and team play like CS.

I need to get BF2, but have heard ppl with video probs galore with this game!
Has anyone here had video prob with BF2??

JerseyDevil : sweet rig! Mine sucks compared to that. SLI must be nice, will get too, prob mid 2006. (2 x 7800GT) Heard the Gts are so close to the GTX and about $200 less. Hardocp.com does a really good review.

Hey Kirock you are right I forgot Unreal Tournament lol thats also one of my favorites and I even still play it on my office pc (p4 2.6 1gb pc 3200 ram geforce ti4600) at times but not much on my new one until 2007 comes out . Coldblizzardice 550W will be just fine and yes the second card kicks *** I play doom 3 and HL2 at 1600x1200 and it plays as smooth as 600x800 its truly amazing and remember when you are playing at highest resolution turn off AA and AF because they only help at lower resolutions and dont even make a 1 percent difference at highest resolution and basically you would have 2 extra engines running for nothing slowing up your performance. When I hook pc up to 50" plasma then I turn AA and AF all the way up(8x 16x)because max resolution is only 1024*768 and it makes a big difference then and if your resolution is somwhere inbetween like 1024x1280 then 2x and 4x is good. I really wasnt a big fan of BF2 good graffix confusing gameplay(to many buttons) but Call of Duty 2 has even better graffix and awesome gameplay and user friendly like Doom 3, HL2 etc and Quake 4 kicks *** a must buy!

Oh yeah Kirock I forgot to answer your question about BF2 yes it is very buggy even with new patch and remember NEVER INSTALL GAMESPY on your pc because it fills you up with spyware and trojans and you could loose form 10% to 40% of your graffix and have bugs or even worse, I think BF2 is the last powered by gamespy game I will ever buy so my advice to you and all gamers is if gamespy is on the gamebox DON'T BUY IT! No reputable company should install spyware with there programs or games and GameSPY is SPYware.

Im not sure what you mean there...every PRG ive played involoved some sort of battle...

And i play RPGs because well..i like a good storyline. Instead of well walking into a room and shooting what ever pops up at me.

Just playing devils advocate here...I play some shooters too.

Well atk spade what I meant was in RPG your pretty much rolling the dice (I played Dungeons & Dragons too) and a first person shooter has real hand and eye coordination maybe now you understand what I meant, its like the difference between managing a football team or actually playing in the game thats the difference, no disrespect though everybody enjoys different types of games but to be great at a FPS takes a lot more skill then to be good at an RPG and there is no argument there dude.

WHat RPGs have you been playing?? I play morrowind and KOTOR which both take alot of effort. Its not just rolling the dice. (try a sword fight with a corpus infested person. And i mean actually swing the sword not just hit a command.)

ANd im not saying FPS are bad...or dont take skill. I play BF2 (hence that stats in the sig) all of the time

Skills vary from one discipline/game/job/activity to another. It's like in sports, it doesn't just mean speed, it can also mean stamina, strategy, flexibility, coordination.

All games require skills, period.

JerseyDevil13: sorry I missed your post about the BF2 stuff. So it ONLY plays on-line with GameSpy? No in game search engine? Hmm, this is sounded more and more like I won't buy this game! What about Day of Destruction, any known probs with that?

Quake 4 is out! Wife wants to buy it for me for my Birthday!! That's not until Dec!!!!!!!! :hotbounce

Since we are talking about our best games ever I thought I might expand the definition to include games which are user freindly and don't require you to have them in the CD drive to play them! This is very important to me, I hate having to keep a game in the CD ROM in order to play it.

the Fallout series does it for me, but Fallout 2 is definately my favourite game

F.E.A.R. (got it a few weeks ago, multi-player is complete chaos in a full 16 person server, i love it!)

I m playing the games from childhood with Atari to Home Computer to Sega to PS1 To Pc...i like lots of games from these consoles but as i grown up i forget about that cauze that was just the matter of my age..now i m regular PC games Player so i have played lots of games so the first game which realy hit me is Hl1 then GTA3,4,5 Then orignal SC ,,,,,SC PT....FarCry,Doom3.Call of Duty,MOH PecificAssault,POP SOT.POP WWI,,,and best of all of them my FAV HalfLife2...i have never played the game like that..now i m waiting for Fear which have the same distribiter of HalfLife2 so i hope its also the cool one
