Bethesda admits the best perks of the Fallout 1st subscription don't even work

No matter who the heck is the developer, people should stop this pre-ordering nonsense. Full stop.

When this trend started anyway? Those days, games had demos to try before you buy. This so-called pre-ordering BS is the modern day abomination of gaming spirit.

How can anyone "pre-order" something that is not even released is beyond me.
I remember when we could pre-order a game a few days in advance so we could start to download it (back when downloading a full game could take a day or more) and be ready for the launch date. Then there was the whole kickstarter thing where small game developers could get crowdfunded years in advance to make a game. I'm sure the AAA boyos decided they wanted a piece of that pie because, why wait until after the game has launched to make money?

Surely you've seen all the memes around this game right? Tod Howard's "15 time the detail" line for example. The guy went on stage before the game's launch and lied his butt off about the game.

I would also materially disagree with other Bethesda games being good. The elder scrolls blades is a micro-transactions fest, FO4 was their worst game to date, ect. They have been on a downward spiral since ES:Oblivion.

I"m just happy The Outer Worlds is out. It has already far exceed any of Bethesda's fallout games IMO.
Personally I think that FO4 is the last Bethesda game worth buying. ES:Blades and FO76 having been a disaster. I don't know if ESO is any good. For me Fallout 4 is actually a good game. Not from a story-telling perspective where it feels about 60% finished. But the existing content and game structure, the base-building and the plethora of free quality mods make it worth your time if you're happy to put some effort into setting it all up. Alas, this is probably the last game from Bethesda that will support free mods and that's why I say it's the last game from Bethesda that gamers should buy.
You don't like the main storyline? Get Alternative Start or Start Me Up.
You don't like your character's voice? Get Silent Protagonist.
You don't like the selection of weapons? Oh boy, are you in for a treat.
I agree that the game that Bethesda delivered is weak. It's the modders that make this game worth playing. I at least appreciate that Bethesda allowed that. Even as I know that they never will again.

As a modder for Skyrim and Fallout 3 I can say that people need to stop giving Bethesda credit for the work of the community.

That's been the excuse for buggy Bethesda games for over 10 years now and I'm tired of it. They need to fix their own stuff and people need to stop letting them off the hook because other's are doing their job for them.

That I can definitely agree with. One of the first mods I download for Skyrim or Fallout are the Unofficial Patches :)
We can see from Fallout 76 the abysmal mess that Bethesda produces when they don't let the modders in to prop them up.
I am actually enjoying Fallout 4 even today. But I have put effort into it. And have used the best of what the modders have produced from their own free time. It is definitely not an install-and-play game.
