If you studied microbiology, you'd probably know that viruses are carried in the air by water droplets.
You'd probably also know that masks will stop some water droplets.
You'd probably also know that smelling a fart through a mask and layers of clothing is much less potent than smelling it with no clothes on and your nose 1m from and with direct line of sight to the anus.
And you must also know that reducing the amount of viral load reduces the chance of an infection taking hold.
So I'm not sure how you have reached your conclusions, but you got an A+ in microbiology, so whatever.

You seem to think an "aresol" [aerosol] is somehow different to virus loaded respiratory droplets, but the definition of aerosol is "a suspension of fine solid particles or liquid droplets in air or another gas". We're talking about fine airborne droplets which contains viral matter here.
Yes the aerosol particles are small. No, masks do not stop all aerosol matter, but they do reduce the amount that is transmitted, both on the way in and out. And that reduces the odds of infection rather significantly.
This is not controversial. It's not placebo, and if people had more sense it wouldn't even require more science to prove.
Stop spreading dangerous misinformation.

Intelligence isn't knowing everything, it's knowing what you don't know, knowing when to defer to authority, and having the skills to evaluate the credibility of that authority.
When people such as @candle_86 and @thewind can become so mistrustful of authority that they reject all logic which might prove such an authority to be credible, it shows me that we have a real problem with trust. Trying to fight misinformation with facts is thus pointless - it's the trust in authority that needs to be fixed, and trust is earned.

It's easier to find mates and support their young. It helps protect them from predators. And they usually follow the most experienced/intelligent members of the herd.
