Moving from a standard hard drive to an SSD can be tricky, as you are finding out. The laptops disk controller may not support SSD. Is the SSD configured as AHCI? How big is the SSD? Did you install Windows 7 fresh?

I did a fresh installation of windows 7, the ssd is 240 Gb and I'm sure that the laptop is compatible with the ssd. But I don't know if I configured the ssd as AHCI. How would I check on that?
