On my edit suite computer I have been trying to update to Adobe CS 4 creative suite, and it BSoD on disk 2. Checking forums it seems to be happening at the same place to several people, but no fixes or what is causing it. I have never run into a BSoD in the middle of an install before. I have two sets of errors.

Let me know if you need anymore information.

Sorry, but they were unreadable. Attach your two minidump files (or your latest 5) in your next post. It sounds like, however, the issue lies with Adobe software.

Sorry here are all the dump files, from what I am reading Adobe is saying it's the computers, that their software is doing nothing to cause a BSoD. (I zipped up the 4 dump files related to this.)

Three errors are 0x7E: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

A system thread generated an exception which the error handler did not catch. There are numerous individual causes for this problem, including hardware incompatibility, a faulty device driver or system service, or some software issues. Check Event Viewer (EventVwr.msc) for additional information.

The other one is 0x50: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Requested data was not in memory. An invalid system memory address was referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop message, as may other hardware problems (e.g., incorrect SCSI termination or a flawed PCI card).

None of the four reported other than a Windows OS driver and they are too general to supply much help. In fact, the 0x50 error specifically stated it was unable to read the faulting driver.

So for the moment let's approach this from a different angle. When you attempted to install did you disable your antivirus and firewall?

Yes I have disabled my anti virus, and I usally don't have an active firewall, but I can double check (at home now though so will have to check tomorrow at work) It was the first thing I did after the first BSoD, and checked, updated all my drivers as well, plus uninstalled, my display drivers and reinstalled them (unistalled through device manager)

And what ever is causing it is only when it is installing disk 2. (granted there are 4 disks)

Alright I made sure anti virus was off, and the firewall was down, at second disk when it's installing the Encore CS4 Library it just rebooted, didn't come back to a blue screen before rebooting though, but here is the event.

The CSIScanner service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the path specified.

And then the ones I posted earlier.. those are all the red x's... Also I ran a Insight Diagnostic check did 7 passes on the full system scan, and everything passed, had 101% read time on the Hard Drive, but nothing out of the ordinary. Anything else I should post up?

I really wonder if this has anything to do with your PC and the real culprit is Adobe. It has become very bloated as a software.

Well that is the thing, I put it on our far weaker computer, that is a sony, and filled with bloatware, and it loaded just fine. Maybe I can see if I can uncheck the adobe encore library and see if that will let me install it. I been thinking of reformatting my system, but I am worried that even after a reformatt it's going to do the same thing.

Are you having any issues with any other software;are you getting BSODs doing anything else?

Another thing struck me as a possibility: Could it be your DVD/CD drive itself? Some drives don't like certain types of disks. Maybe a firmware update for your DVD drive?

I was thinking the same thing, I actually plugged in a firewire DVD drive to try installing it again, and it BSoD on the same spot. I will double check on the firmware but I didn't think I saw any updates.

And no I think I have had one or two BSoD a few months back but beyond that nothing on this system.

Last thing is this system hasn't been reformatted in 3 years, so could be something there that is just not popping..

But I do find it wierd googling the install with CS4, anyone that does BSoD it's on the same disk.

Have yopu tried cleaning out all things Adobe including the Windows File, using RegCleaner for the registry, and using the Search Function in the Menu and then trying a clean install of said software?
