BSOD on XP install

I have a dell im working on, and ive tried 3 different XP install discs including the one that came with the dell computer, each time i go to reinstall xp i get some error message like ntsf is corrupted or some other file is corrupted, sometimes it will just drop to blue screen, i took the hard drive out and formatted it on another computer. I put the hard drive back in and i still get the same error messages with a formatted drive, with all 3 xp discs, can anyone help out?.

Reset the bios to failsafe defaults, and remove all but one memory module. Remove any external USB devices and try to use only on-board video and sound
