Building my first pc. $800-$1200

I decided to finally get around building my very own pc. I'm just not sure what to look for exactly. I don't even know if its going to be complicated to build after I get everything. I'm hoping someone could give me a hand here. I can spend between $800-$1200. If it goes over a little, that's fine.
I plan on doing lots of gaming on this pc. Along with browsing, kindle, and VR as well. The VR add-ons will not affect the price range I set.
Thank you in advance!

Lets settle for a budget of 800 dollars with shipping and taxes figured in.

69.99
one of the best psu besides antec psu.

156.00 from amazon warehouse.

Given the parts shown here, after halloween has gone, the prices will start to go up really quickly.
This type of build will handle vr game play, todays games, and whatever else.

780.00 before the taxes hit you and amazon shipping prices.
Iff you don't have prime yet, which is suppose to be 9.99 for 120.00 per year.
That build is near 800.00 dollars, I suggest you get a nice aftermarket cooler and thermal paste.

Thank you for the help! I'm going to look into getting this stuff during the weekend.
In the previous reply, there is i5-7500 CPU and B360 motherboard. They are not compatible. You'd better choose i5-8400 for this motherboard. It costs more, but it is much more powerful.
Then the issue with RAM. I'd prefer DDR4-2666. not 2400. Since the B360 chipset does not allow to overclock anything, you\d better have a higher freq of RAM kit.
The next one is SSD. Samsung 960 is very good, but it is overpriced for $800 rig. I think you can find a cheaper m.2 stick or even choose a SATA3 one.
I can give you a config of parts to fit your budget best.
