Can anybody recommend a free firewall that doesn't slow my internet down to a crawl?

Just like the question says,I'm so fed up with zone alarm it's not even funny,unless anybody knows anything I can do to it that won't effect the speed of my already somewhat slow wireless internet connection.Any suggestions I'll look into and will be much appreciated,thanks in advance.

I use Comodo Firewall, I do not experience any slowdowns, and it lets me actually OCD on what my computer does.

I just use the bog standard window 7 firewall. I aint had any nasties through for ages with it ...but if you aint got win 7, then i'de agree with Comodo.

Effective Firewall?

Have used 'Online-armor' (free version) with Windows 7 for over a year now, no problems at all, but did turn off the windows firewall, to use this one instead.

We have large numbers of clients on Zone Alarm and Comodo... among others. Very, very few with slow-downs... the biggest killer is inadequate memory, or other hardware issues. Perhaps you could describe your computer and configuration...
