Canon MF4890dw scanner not installed

Hello, I've got an MF4890dw printer/copier/scanner set up and printing wirelessly on my Windows 7 system, but I cannot get the scan function set up. When I click on the MF toolbox, I get a message "A supported scanner is not installed. Please install a supported scanner then restart Toolbox" I cannot find anything about installing the scan function of this machine in the various manuals or Canon's online help pages. This device shows up in my Control Panel Devices and Printers but is just listed as a printer. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Can you temporarily connect your printer direct via ethernet, usb or whatever. If you can uninstall and reinstall the driver, then set up the wifi again. Alternatively, look on Canon support for another driver - an earlier one especially for Win 7 might work better.
