Can't boot from recovery disk after using DBAN on Acer Aspire One netbook

Hello, I have an Acer Aspire One netbook with Windows XP originally. I created a set of 2 Recovery Discs, then used DBAN to wipe out the hard drive. Now that the wipe is complete, I try to reinstall the software by booting from the USB DVD drive with Disc One inserted, but keep getting error for No bootable device. Any thoughts? Did I perhaps not create the Recovery Discs correctly? Thanks in advance for any help.

Never mind after trying a few more things I got it to start by accessing the setup menu instead of just selecting the DVD drive through the F12 boot menu. (I don't know how to just delete this thread altogether).
