I have a gateway desktop with with windows vista and recently had to edit the registry to get windows to recognize the DVD/CD-RW drive because it quit working. Now I can burn audio cd's and data cd's using microsoft word, etc. but it will not burn pictures to either a cd-r or cd-rw using windows photo gallery or kodak easy share.
