Can't erase data off of HP DVD+RW due to write protect

I just burned a video to an HP DVD+RW 4x 4.7 Gb dvd and after findong out that it wont play properly in my DVD player wanted to erase it and try a different method. But as I tried to format it, Windows (7) tells me that it cant be done due to it being write protected when I didn't put any protection on it. I burned it by using the burn to disc option when right-clicking the file. Any ideas.

Other thoughts: Any software that can bypass the protection?
Already tried using software to erase, no good.

Thanks.

Does your DVD Player except the DVDRW+ Most of the older DVD Players don't. It has to say it on the unit or in the manual. If it doesn't then you need to Burn it as a DVD+ buy at 8x speed don't go higher than that. If this is for Home component DVD Player connected to a TV.
