To be precise, the Fourth Amendment always applies, but it protects one only against unreasonable searches. And the Supreme Court has long ruled that searching anything -- even phones -- without a warrant at the border is reasonable.Which doesn’t apply all the time
I'll take that at 57. I refuse to grow up.Showing exactly what, besides you are a foolish child, that is.
So we can cherry pick parts of countries now?Canada's murder rate is the same as US states located by or near the Canadian border-- regardless of how strict or lax the gun laws are for that particular state. In fact, a few of those US states have a slightly lower murder rate. What do those states share in common with Canada? Demographics, ethnicity, and population density, of course.
And you still haven't addressed the point that Canada's murder rate in 1950 -- when guns were far easier to obtain, even weapons like automatic rifles and sawed-off shotguns -- was HALF what it is today.
I would like to see the math behind your statement.LOL, what? Canada's murder rate is 1.98, not the 0.000059 you claim.I'm a Canadian - .... I'll take our 1/100,000 murder rate over the US' any day...
Struggled with division problems in math, eh? No worries. The US murder rate is 5.9. A rate of 1/100,000 of that is computed as such:I would like to see the math behind your statement.
Would be interesting to see which part of the constitution they believe protects it.
I'm guessing freedom of speech.Would be interesting to see which part of the constitution they believe protects it.
Wow, I am liking this OS the more I read about it.A few things I love about this case
>this did not happen on US land so US law shouldn't apply
>he did not destroy evidence, the investigators did. He just gave them a code and the investigators entered it
>it can't be proven that the investigators didn't enter the code incorrectly
There is protocol for how these devices are supposed to be handled and the investigators screwed up in basically every step of the process.
But here is the thing about grapheneOS, it encrypts itself after a few hours of not being used
True, but letting even loonies have guns so they can use them is pretty stupid, dontcha think? It's the same reason we don't give everything possible to children, so they don't irresponsibly use those things as they aren't ready to use them responsibly yet. There is a good reason the U.S. is the only nation stupid enough to give everyone the right to own a gun. Everyone else has learned from our experience that it's bad public policy.Guns do not kill people.
People do.
The US used to have a policy of civil detainment for dangerous mental patients. However, a series of court rules in the 1970s -- by 'the most liberal Supreme Court in US history' banned that practice. As a result, we now must allow these people the full rights of everyone else-- up to the point they kill or seriously injure someone.True, but letting even loonies have guns so they can use them is pretty stupid, dontcha think?
So maybe don’t let anyone have guns? The US used to have a policy of civil detainment for dangerous mental patients. Or we could reject fasicst authoritarianism and stick with that "freedom" thing, especially when "not letting anyone have guns" raised the murder rates in every country that's tried it so far.So maybe don’t let anyone have guns?
I do not need to be to divide numbers.Struggled with division problems in math, eh? No worries. The US murder rate is 5.9. A rate of 1/100,000 of that is computed as such:
5.9 / 100,000 = 0.000059.

Cause and effect is not proven… but nice try… and the US would definitely benefit from a bit less freedom and a bit more common sense.Or we could reject fasicst authoritarianism and stick with that "freedom" thing, especially when "not letting anyone have guns" raised the murder rates in every country that's tried it so far.
