Can't get on Internet with emachines desktop ( Windows XP home os)after router replacement

After AT&T tech replaced router because of tv problems, I can't logon to the Internet with my old emachines desktop ( os Windows XP home). I can log on with my I-pad and wireless Dell. I called AT&T who indicated nothing wrong with their equipment but suggested replacing cable connecting router to computer. Suggestions?

Use wireless Dell with a cable to see if it works 'wired' - trying a known good cable is a good idea too. Tell us what works. If none, then there may be a problem with the RJ45 connection on the new router.

It's called Hardware provisioning, Your ISP sees the MAC address of the router and the old one was the last one enabled.
Call and ask for them to re-enable.
