wasnt sure where to post this, so i thought id try here.

Up until recently my laptop started displaying broken icons on my taskbar.
after extensive googling, deleting the Iconcache.db and running several registry scanners, i noticed alot of my registry files were corrupted or missing.

attempting to repair them with windows registry repair hasnt worked, after it says it been repaired, i run the scan again an it still comes up with the same corrupted/missing registry files. Ive tried restoring my laptop to factory condition, but
running the registry scanner i still see alot of files broken/missing.

is there any other way i can repair my registry without wiping my drive again?
can anyone plz help?

this should not happen. either you did not restore to factory or you have faulty software on there after the wipe. registry scanners are not a good idea and they will always find something wrong. also, if the goal was to get icons back can you see them now with the errors.
